The Maximillion team headed up to MadMax Adventures after work last week to plant a hedge in commemoration of the Great War. With welly boots fitted, one hundred trees were planted by the team, one each to commemorate every year since 1914.
The hedge has been planted with beach (fagus sylvatica) and protected from hungry rabbits with stakes and spirals and a stock fence is in place to repel the nibbling sheep!
Going forward, our hedge will be carefully managed with annual weed spraying in May and trimming in August. A plaque will be installed to inform all of the commemorative nature of the hedge.
We all look forward to watching our hedge grow and prosper over the coming years!
